KIKA Clinical Solutions Experiences Strong First Half of 2009; On Track for Record Growth Year

Leading provider of advanced EDC solutions for managing clinical trial data signs five new clients; launches newest version of Veracity 3.6 product; sponsors successful inaugural European User Group Meeting

Key events included:

New Clients – In addition to continued business from KIKA’s existing customers, KIKA signed five new clients who are using its groundbreaking Clinical Asset Management platform on trials and registries worldwide for therapeutic areas including oncology, cardiovascular, urology, radiology, neuroradiology and orthopedics.

Veracity 3.6 Release – KIKA unveiled the newest release of its market-leading Veracity Clinical Asset Management system in March. Veracity is a Web-based software platform that offers pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies the industry’s most reliable, flexible EDC solution. With CDISC ODM architecture at its core, Veracity is customized to meet study needs precisely – from an intuitive user interface that makes EDC user-friendly, to its Clinical Data Management software, to its ability to connect and communicate with other software and systems.

Senior Management Team – KIKA promoted company veteran Zaher El-Assi to Senior Director of Global Sales and Strategic Partnerships. Mr. El-Assi is an entrepreneurial professional with successful experience in the healthcare, biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. KIKA also named Erik Falvey Director of Business Development for Northern Europe. Mr. Falvey has built a thriving career in sales and marketing in the pharmaceutical industry and with CRO service providers.

Inaugural European User Group Meeting – KIKA welcomed pharmaceutical, life sciences and medical device companies to discuss clinical trial management innovations and trends at a gathering in Chantilly, France. One sponsor using KIKA solutions cited a 90 percent compliance rate at the six-month follow up on a clinical trial with 15,175 patients at 320 sites in 56 countries. Another sponsor conducting an 8,000 patient study explained how KIKA’s EDC solutions offer substantial value at the back end and helped reduce monitoring site visits by an estimated 75 percent.
